Midsteel Iron Factory
Project Overview
Erection, installation & commissioning for complete GIS station in Damascus. Midsteel Iron Factory — Comprehensive electrical and mechanical infrastructure project for the Midsteel iron and steel production facility. The project encompassed high-voltage substation systems, power distribution for heavy industrial equipment, material handling systems, industrial cooling water circulation, compressed air generation and distribution, process control and automation systems for steel production, and comprehensive safety systems.
The Challenge
Steel production requires massive amounts of electrical power with specific voltage and frequency requirements. The primary challenge was designing and installing systems that could handle peak loads of several megawatts while maintaining power quality and ensuring worker safety in a high-temperature, heavy-duty industrial environment.
Our Solution
We installed a dedicated high-voltage substation with step-down transformers specifically designed for the extreme power demands of steel production. Advanced power factor correction systems and harmonic filters were implemented to maintain power quality, with special attention given to robust grounding systems.
